NetSuite Document Templates: NetSuite tags are replaced with dynamic data when documents are generated from templates. Tags are capitalized, prefixed with NL and include a field ID. Tags are enclosed with <> for email templates and fax templates. Tags are referenced as text field names for PDF templates. Tags are referenced as mail merge field names for letter templates.
NetSuite CSV Data Imports: Field values are not case sensitive, update a record using the Internal ID, reference a parent record as {entityid} {name} such as 12345 Company ABC and there is a limit of 25,000 records or 50 MB per import job including all files. 2,000-3,000 records can be added or updated per hour depending on the record type, time of day and customizations in a NetSuite account.
NetSuite Constrained Picklists: To create a constrained picklist, create a custom list, a custom record type with a multiple select field for mapping, another custom record type and an online custom record form (optional for website).
NetSuite Website Templates: Header, body and footer templates are separated by a 2-25 pixel space depending on the page type and browser. The 2-25 pixel spaces will display the background color. Therefore, it is best to use a website design without content positioned on the spaces separating header, body and footer templates. Header, body and footer templates have square edges/corners. Certain few website pages are not customizable and expose the square edges/corners. Therefore, it is best to use a website design with square edges/corners.
NetSuite Email Campaigns: To send a campaign email to more than 10,000 recipients, setup a campaign email domain and Domain Key Identified Mail (DKIM) in NetSuite and at a DNS provider.
NetSuite Formulas: Formulas can be used in the setup of custom fields, saved search criteria, saved search results and workflows. Formulas can reference NetSuite fields and SQL expressions. Formulas cannot reference fields using formulas. Formulas can be used in the setup of reports. In reports, formulas are limited to predefined calculations using report columns.
NetSuite Saved Searches: Saved search criteria are case sensitive.
NetSuite Sandbox Account: All record Internal IDs will be the same in the sandbox account as in the production account after a sandbox refresh from the production account.
NetSuite Application Programming Interfaces (APIs): SuiteScript (script) and SuiteTalk (web service) application programming interfaces (APIs) can be used for NetSuite data integration.
NetSuite Script Types: The most common script types used are global client-side and server-side including user event, scheduled and suitelet.
NetSuite Re-queue Scripts: The best design for a scheduled script that will exceed script governance limits is to re-queue the script deployment.
NetSuite User Event Scripts: For User Event script type, there is a limit of 10 user event functions (per trigger type) that can execute on a record. For example, up to 10 Before Load, 10 Before Submit and 10 After Submit executing functions on a sales order record.
NetSuite Script Parameters: Script parameters can be passed in URLs, script fields and functions.
NetSuite SuiteApps/Bundles: When updating SuiteApps/bundles, during installation, selecting replace updates objects, but does not delete data. Selecting add and rename adds objects and appends "_2" to the object ID.
